Kristin’s legal practice focuses on complex corporate finance matters including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, and securities transactions. She represents high-growth and emerging businesses, including companies in the life sciences, energy and clean technology, information technology (hardware, software and services), digital media, medical device and other high technology sectors, ranging from start-ups to public companies. Kristin routinely counsels businesses on their growth and development, advises their boards of directors and management on corporate governance matters, and assists them with a diverse array of domestic and international transactions, including venture capital and other private offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and technology transfer matters. Kristin represents venture capital firms in both fundraising and portfolio investment activities.
Kristin also devotes a portion of her practice to counseling social enterprise and nonprofit companies with respect to complex corporate structures, governance and sustainability, financings and grant development, strategic alliances and commercial contracts. She is heavily involved in the start-up community in Boston and regularly advises and mentors young companies and entrepreneurs regarding the legal and business issues that they face.
