Emma Aller - Expert
In her current position, Emma evaluates investments in microfinance institutions for a microfinance investment fund. Prior to this, for six years, Emma advised clients on interest rate and foreign exchange risk management, with a focus on hedging illiquid currency risk in emerging and frontier markets. Leading a team based in Krakow, Poland and managing client relationships and business development, Emma has executed hedges in over thirty-five emerging and frontier market currencies in order to help microfinance investment fund clients manage their risk. Prior to Chatham, she conducted research on South Asia and the Middle East at the Council on Foreign Relations and completed an American India Foundation Service Corps fellowship with an NGO in New Delhi, India. She graduated with a BA in History and Asian Studies from the University of Virginia and a Masters in International Business from the Fletcher School, Tufts University.
